The May 25, 2026, episode of WWE RAW kicked off with a big promo from Paul Heyman before Brock Lesnar revealed the reason behind his supposed retirement after his WrestleMania 42 match against Oba Femi.
As both wrestlers are now ready to clash once again at Clash in Italy, Heyman called it “the biggest rematch in professional wrestling.” But the crowd immediately started chanting “Oba,” which annoyed Heyman before he introduced a pre-recorded message from Lesnar.
Brock Lesnar says his WrestleMania loss to Oba Femi made him want to quit
In the video, Lesnar admitted that losing to Femi at WrestleMania 42 hit him harder than any loss in his career. The Beast Incarnate also said that he has taken many beatings during his career, but none felt as bad as the one Femi gave him at WrestleMania.
“I didn’t quite get the chance to congratulate you last week on your big victory over me at WrestleMania. Congratulations, Oba. Well done. But that victory is going to cost you more than you could ever imagine. Oh, I’ve had my share of a** whoopings over the years, but none quite like that,” Lesnar said.
Lesnar then revealed that he seriously considered retirement after the match. “It was humbling. You beat my a** at WrestleMania so bad I said, ‘That’s it, I’m done,'” he said.
However, he also said that he could not accept ending his career that way. Lesnar said he wants one more fight to prove he can still defeat the man who embarrassed him on WWE’s biggest stage.
“But that doesn’t sit very well with me, Oba. It’s not gonna end that way, Oba Femi. Brock Lesnar can take an a** whooping, but can you? You’re gonna get your a** kicked by a humbled, retired Beast. Brock Lesnar will conquer Oba Femi. I am gonna rule over Oba Femi,” Lesnar stated.
One interesting detail was that Lesnar repeatedly called himself “retired” during the promo, even though he is already scheduled to wrestle Femi this weekend.
