WWE‘s Sol Ruca reveals the biggest lesson she learned after suffering an ACL injury.
Reigning WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Sol Ruca suffered a torn ACL in April 2023. She had to undergo surgery and stay on the sidelines for nearly a year. Ruca also had another injury scare at Saturday Night’s Main Event last month after an awkward landing while performing the Sol Snatcher.
Now, speaking to TMZ Sports‘ Branson Quirke, Ruca noted that she doesn’t spend much time worrying about her surgically repaired knee. However, she shared that the biggest lesson she learned from the experience was the importance of recovery and listening to her body.
Sol Ruca also stated that she constantly pushed herself to the limit physically during her early days with WWE. However, she came to realize that it wasn’t a sustainable approach due to the demanding schedule.
“The only thing that has really changed since the injury is what I do on the outside. I’m just making sure that I’m taking the time off that I need for my body and listening to my body. When I first got into WWE, I was trying to do all of the things all of the time. But with this job, it is so demanding on your body. You can’t be lifting 300 pounds every single day and then also being in the ring and then also going to shows. You need to listen to your body. You need to do the recovery,” Sol Ruca said.
