Tommy Dreamer Regrets Negative Attention on TNA After His Exit, Compares It to Politics

Tommy Dreamer speaks out against internet rumors hurting TNA following his exit, saying people prefer speculation over the truth.

Tommy Dreamer, who worked in TNA creative, recently announced his departure from the promotion, saying the decision came after a conversation with the company’s president, Carlos Silva. Many wrestling personalities have commented on his exit, and some have also made multiple accusations against him.

He addressed his exit while speaking to Denise Salcedo on Busted Open, detailing his experience working for TNA.

Tommy Dreamer noted that he often had to deal with issues like talent contracts ending and higher-ups turning things down. He cited advice from WWE’s Triple H, Dusty Rhodes, and Shawn Michaels, who said getting 80% of your vision to happen was a success. Dreamer said he sometimes got 100% of his vision, but on many occasions, it was only 1%.

Dreamer then highlighted several major highs from his TNA tenure, including the strong attendance at Slammiversary and Bound For Glory 2025, along with the AMC TV deal.

Tommy Dreamer reflects on the fallout from his TNA departure

Speaking further, Tommy Dreamer expressed frustration that internet rumors and unnamed sources are hurting TNA’s reputation following his exit. He compared the situation to politics, where the truth seems less important to people than choosing a side and believing a specific narrative.

However, because he spoke the truth openly and has the data to back it up, he is choosing to ignore the drama and move on.

“I hate that what happened has turned such negative against TNA, where things just happen, man. Everyone speculates it, and then speculation becomes truth when it’s not. Listen, you have to deal with this. Sources. I was your source. I went and said it. I hate sources. You know why? Because I feel people are, I don’t want to say, they just don’t want their name out there. I came on the air, and I gave my story,” Tommy Dreamer began.

“The Internet plays weirdly a role in wrestling that it shouldn’t be because we’re talking so much in one company’s behind-the-scenes that are also aren’t 100% true. Here’s the other part. If you say the truth, I don’t think people care anymore. I think it’s kind of like politics. You go one way, you say one thing, and then it just goes the other way. But I don’t need to care about that anymore. You have facts, and you have data which back you up,” Dreamer said.
