Tommy Dreamer Says He Tried Building A Culture At TNA, But That Will All Change Now

Tommy Dreamer says he tried building a culture in TNA Wrestling.

Recent years saw Tommy Dreamer work as a part-time wrestler for TNA. Behind the scenes, he also worked within the company’s creative and talent relations departments. All of that changed last week when Dreamer parted ways with TNA.

Following his exit, Dreamer believes that the culture within TNA will now shift as well.

“I told this to people for a long time. It’s my job to get you where you wanna go. If another company doesn’t want you, then it’s my job to keep this place going. It’s not my job anymore,” Dreamer said on Busted Open Radio. “I tried building a culture. I can’t worry about that anymore, because it is all gonna change. I hope everyone realizes how much it’s gonna change.”

Dreamer’s departure from TNA came amidst a number of “workforce reductions” aimed at streamlining operations and increase profitability for the company. This move also affected Sami Callihan, who served as backstage agent and producer.

Dreamer described his personal TNA experience as a “24/7 job” that allowed him to travel the world and create special moments on TNA television. On the creative end, Dreamer worked alongside Hunter “Delirious” Johnston. Reports suggest that Vice President of TV Production Eric Tompkins will work “hand in hand” with Delirious moving forward. Former WWE executive Brian “Road Dogg” James has also reportedly been considered for a new backstage position in TNA.

During the conversation, Dreamer also shared his regret that his TNA departure led to negative press for the company.
