TNA Wrestling’s recent tribute to The Walking Dead may have been more than a memorable television moment.
According to a new report, the company’s partnership with AMC could soon expand. Additional crossover content is reportedly expected following Matt Hardy’s Negan-inspired appearance on TNA iMPACT.
The tease comes after one of the most talked-about segments from the July 23 episode, leaving the door open for more collaborations between the wrestling promotion and its broadcast partner.
Fightful Select reports more AMC crossovers are planned for TNA
According to Fightful Select, “There will likely be more AMC crossovers soon in TNA,” suggesting the Hardy Compound segment was not intended as a one-off tribute.
The report also revealed that the barbed-wire baseball bat used during the Righteous Deletion match wasn’t simply modeled after Negan’s famous weapon. Instead, it was an actual replica of Lucille from The Walking Dead, adding authenticity to the cinematic sequence.
During the match, Matt Hardy fully embraced Negan’s persona. Carrying Lucille, he recreated several of the villain’s signature moments, including his version of the infamous “pee pee pants city” line before launching into “Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Moe” and striking Dutch with the bat. The homage quickly became one of the standout moments from the show.
The timing made the tribute feel especially fitting, as TNA iMPACT has aired on AMC every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET since January. The network has also featured several crossover appearances in recent months. Personalities such as Keith Jardine, Mama June, Kiowa Gordon, and Zahn McClarnon have appeared on the program.
According to Fightful Select, the success of the Lucille segment appears to have encouraged additional collaborations. If those plans come to fruition, TNA’s relationship with AMC could extend well beyond a single Broken Universe spectacle.
The Righteous Deletion match already delivered plenty of chaos, from Jeff Hardy reviving his Willow and Antichrist personas to the Hardys retaining the TNA World Tag Team Championship. Now, it appears the crossover story may be kicking out at two instead of ending with the final bell.
