Backstage, Jeff Hardy celebrates with some of the babyfaces on the roster. A.J. Styles shakes Hardy's hand despite his stance a few months ago.

Backstage: Jeremy Borash Interviews Bobby Roode

Backstage, Jeremy Borash is with Bobby Roode. Roode said he was Beer Money and Fortune by himself. He says the other guys only got in his way and now that he's gotten rid of them, he's the TNA World Champion. He said he'll do whatever it takes to remain the TNA Champion tonight.

TNA World Championship: Bobby Roode vs. A.J. Styles

The two work some chain wrestling early on. Roode does his best to avoid Styles, but Styles ultimately gets a lot of offense in. Both guys take turns in the lead of the match, with neither man being in control for any significant amount of time early on. Roode falls to the floor and eats a flying forearm from Styles. Roode catches Styles coming back into the ring and slams him. Styles nails Roode with a superplex off the top. Styles is energizing a bit and picking up the pace at this point in the bout, hitting a number of offensive moves in a row. Roode cuts him short eventually with a spinebuster. Roode goes for a fisherman's suplex but Styles reverses it into a back suplex. Styles goes for a springboard 450 splash but Roode avoids it. Styles tries for the Styles Clash but Roode reverses that into a crossface spot. Styles eventually breaks himself free, but gets hit with a low blow from Roode. Styles eventually regains control of the offense. Roode is begging off right now, but Styles flips him off and spears him. Styles low blows Roode and sends him outside the ring. Styles goes for a suicide dive but Roode moves and Styles lands very hard. Back in the ring, Roode hits a fisherman's suplex for a close nearfall. He goes for another one but Styles hits him with the Pele kick. Styles goes for the Styles Clash late into the match but Roode reverses it into a schoolboy. He grabs the tights and gets the 1-2-3 for the pinfall victory.
