1/17 TNA Impact Wrestling Results – Brooke/Bully Wedding Crashed; New Aces & Eights Member Revealed!

TNA Impact Wrestling

January 17, 2013

A video package highlighting this weekend's Genesis PPV airs, and our 3-man team welcomes us to Impact Wrestling, live from Orlando, FL.

Backstage, Bully Ray is preparing for his wedding later tonight. His groomsmen, Tommy Dreamer and Spike Dudley, show up to get their tuexes. Bully calls them "double small" and "double wide".

Jeff Hardy makes his way down to the ring, still your TNA World Heavyweight Champion. He drinks in the chants from the Impact Zone, as they chant "you still got it." Hardy says that he's still read for a fight, any time, including tonight.

Christopher Daniels and Kazarian make their way out. Daniels says that Hardy's so-called "creatures" aren't creatures of the night, but rather creatures of habit. And that habit is losing. He gives the crowd permission to worship him, but Hardy says "we got a ring; let's just do it now" and starts swinging for the fences. The numbers game gets the best of the World Champion, and "Cowboy" James Storm makes the save. Bad Influence runs off, and Storm challenges them to a tag team match, right now.

The faces don't wait for Kaz and Daniels to respond, and rush the ramp, beating them down and dragging the heels back into the ring. A referee is out, and this match is underway. Storm clotheslines Kazarian to the outside while Hardy works over Daniels as they head to the first break.

After the break, James Storm is getting worked over by a double team assault. Daniels hip tosses Kazarian right on top of Storm, and the two keep up quick tags to keep him away from the World Champ. Storm with a Russian leg sweep on Daniels, and he makes the hot tag to Jeff Hardy. Daniels doesn't want any of his future championship opponent, and tags out to Kazarian. Flying forearm connects, as does the atomic drop, split-leg leg drop combo. Kaz kicks out of a pin attempt at two, and throws Hardy to the corner; the champ runs the turnbuckle and comes off with Whisper in the Wind.

Daniels tries to get involved, but "the Cowboy" clotheslines them both to the outside. Hardy goes for a Twist of Fate, but Kaz gets out of it by raking the eyes. Out of nowhere, Hardy gets a quick Twist of Fate – more like a cutter – and that'll end this opening contest.

Winners: Jeff Hardy & James Storm

After the match, the World Champ tries to celebrate in the ring, but gets attacked from behind by Daniels. Hardy takes the Angel's Wings off the World Title belt in the center of the ring.
