Alberto del Rio/WWE Agreement

alberto del rioIn a long battle between Alberto del Rio and WWE, the two parties have come to an agreement on his release and how he may proceed going forward with taking U.S. and international bookings. Alberto and Ricardo Rodriguez made a surprise appearance at this weekend’s House of Hardcore event promoted by Tommy Dreamer. TNA star Ethan Carter III was supposed to be on the show, but missed it due to an injury that will require surgery.

jim ross Q&A-WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross was announced as the official play-by-play man for New Japan Pro Wrestling “Wrestle Kingdom 9” on January 4, 2015. A second color commentator will be announced in the near future. This will be the first time New Japan is brought to PPV in the United States, and the first time the biggest promotion in Japan will be broadcast in English and Japanese simultaneously. 

-Speaking of Alberto del Rio, he may start with Lucha Underground at the next set of television tapings in early 2015. 

-PWI came out with their “Female 50” list of top women’s wrestlers. Included in the Top 10 are several WWE and TNA ladies, including Paige, AJ Lee, Natalya and Gail Kim. 

-A major Ring of Honor tag team match was announced for New Japan Pro Wrestling “Wrestle Kingdom 9” from Tokyo. 

CM Punk will be guest writing for Marvel Comics, in the Thor Annual #1 set to release in early 2015.
