As previously reported, Joey Styles was fired from EVOLVE this weekend after making a careless joke about Donald Trump and announcer Joanna Rose on the air at EVOLVE 72. Gabe Sapolsky took to Twitter today and stated that there was a “mandate” at last night’s show to leave politics at the door.
EVOLVE is meant to be a fun escape from the world, not a basis of political debate. There was a mandate not to get political last night.

Gabe also told the ever-controversial Jim Cornette, “if you specifically instructed someone not to do something like that on a show and they did it, you would have gone after them with a bat.”
