This week on WWE NXT, North American Champion Blake Monroe attempted to hold an open challenge, but everything fell apart before the match even began.
Blake walked to the ring and bragged that the locker room idolizes her. She said she felt generous and wanted to give the less fortunate a chance and announced her open challenge. Several women moved toward the ring, but Thea Hail suddenly ran in from the other side.
Hail grabbed Blake Monroe and put her in a Kimura. Monroe tapped out, even though the match hadn’t officially started. Hail celebrated like she had won the WWE NXT, North American title.
After the chaos, Blake Monroe stormed backstage and told Ava they needed to talk. Ava asked how the challenge was supposed to work and Monroe blamed her for making her look bad. Monroe then said there would be no more open challenges.
Ava agreed, but she surprising move she made an official match for next week between Blake Monroe vs. Thea Hail for the NXT North American Championship. Thea Hail wasted no time celebrating on social media. On X, she wrote, “I TAPPED OUT @BlakeMonroeWWE GIVE ME MY FKING TITLE.”
Monroe shut her down, calling her a “potty mouth.” Hail also begged Ava to give her the championship, insisting she earned it. Monroe fired back with frustration of her own, posting, “You’re so cooked @avawwe_.” When Blake later called Ava “utter nonsense,” Hail jumped in again, tweeting, “The only nonsense is the lack of referees in this place what is this @WWENXT.”
Monroe feels upset about her match, but Hail is thrilled for next week’s WWE NXT North American Title bout. It will be interesting to see if Hail can beat Monroe and become champion or if Monroe will keep her title. Only time will tell.
