TNA brought back a popular match stipulation this week, but part of the payoff has already been spoiled.
This week’s episode of TNA Impact on AMC aired live from Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Thursday night. The episode was generally better received than last week’s AMC premiere, which drew considerable criticism. However, this week’s taping was not without its issues. A production botch spoiled the Feast or Fired match and the upcoming No Surrender special.
TNA taped content for future episodes of Impact on Thursday night. They were still on the air for the TNA+ stream of the live IMPACT, which was never taken offline. Video footage of the taping was not available. However, an audio stream spoiled TNA’s commentary team discussing some of the results.
What did TNA accidentally spoil?
The audio featured Tom Hannifan confirming Eddie Edwards won the Feast or Fired briefcase for a future TNA World Title match. It was also noted that Leon Slater and Mike Santana will team against Nic Nemeth and Edwards at No Surrender.
“It’s going to be a tag team matchup with Mike Santana and the X-Division Champion Leon Slater up against the Call Your Shot Gauntlet winner, Nic Nemeth, and the Feast or Fired TNA World Championship match holder, Eddie Edwards,” Hannifan said.
“Let’s not forget, it has already been floated out there by Daria Rae. [She teased that] perhaps Leon Slater should invoke Option C,” Matthew Rehwoldt added. “So every man in that matchup tomorrow night at No Surrender has an incentive to see Mike Santana put down.”
Based on the context of the audio, the segment featuring Hannifan and Rehwoldt’s commentary will air on the February 12 episode of TNA Impact on AMC.
Since Eddie Edwards is the World Title briefcase holder, there are only three briefcases remaining.
Eric Young, Steve Maclin, and the returning Trey Miguel will be able to earn an X Division or Tag Team title match, while the third one will be fired.
