WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray believes Danhausen can become a big success in WWE.
WWE teased a mystery crate for weeks on WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown. The secret was finally revealed at WWE Elimination Chamber when Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis opened the crate near the stage. Danhausen stepped out with dancers in face paint. He even handed a jar of teeth to Michael Cole before the lights went out.
He quickly made an impact on WWE TV. On the following episode of RAW, he placed a curse on Dominik Mysterio before his Intercontinental Championship match. Later that night, Mysterio lost the title to Penta.
With former AEW star already making an impact on television, reports have also said that WWE officials were surprised by the early sales numbers for his merchandise. Now, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has shared his thoughts on Danhausen.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Ray said, “When I saw Danhausen come out, I was very happy. I was happy for Danhausen. I think he’s exactly where he should be.” He explained that he once thought All Elite Wrestling was a good fit for Danhausen, but he believes WWE’s focus on entertainment suits him even better.
“Honestly, I thought AEW was a great fit for Danhausen. I really thought AEW would utilize Danhausen to his maximum potential — not as a wrestler, but as an entertainer. But I’m loving the fact that Danhausen is in World Wrestling Entertainment — keyword, entertainment. And the one thing that came to mind, Dave [LaGreca], right off the top of my head — and I tweeted this as well — give me Danhausen and R-Truth.”
He also talked about seeing Danhausen interact with Brock Lesnar, saying even Lesnar would likely enjoy the character. “Even Brock Lesnar walks away with a smirk on his face because he’s entertained by Danhausen.”
The WWE Hall of Famer believes former AEW star can succeed if WWE uses him properly. “I think he’s going to succeed. I pray they don’t put him on the backburner, I pray that they give him the opportunity to be as entertaining as we have seen him be in the past and we know he can be.” [H/T: WrestlingInc]
