WWE Pleasantly Surprised With Danhausen Initial Merchandise Numbers

Danhausen has barely settled into WWE, but early signs suggest his arrival is already paying dividends.

Following his surprise debut at Elimination Chamber on February 28 in Chicago, the self-proclaimed “Very Nice, Very Evil” star quickly became one of the most talked-about names online.

Now, according to backstage reports, that buzz has translated into strong merchandise performance. WWE officials reportedly didn’t fully expect this to happen so quickly.

Reports from PWInsider indicate that company management has been “pleasantly surprised” by the early sales numbers tied to Danhausen’s debut merchandise.

Exact figures have not been publicly disclosed. Nevertheless, the early demand has caught the attention of those evaluating how the character may fit into WWE’s long-term plans.

Danhausen’s Debut Shirt Reportedly Becomes Top Seller on WWE Shop

Danhausen himself hinted at the momentum on social media, claiming his debut shirt had climbed to the top spot on WWE Shop. The item listed as the “Men’s Black Danhausen Cursed! T-Shirt” is currently priced at $34.99.

The design leans into his signature presentation, featuring the familiar horror-comedy branding tied to phrases like “Very Nice, Very Evil” and “Be Cursed.” According to internal reports, the shirt quickly rose to the No. 1 position on the WWE Shop rankings shortly after release.

That performance reportedly placed it ahead of merchandise linked to marquee names such as Roman Reigns and Jey Uso — not bad for someone who only recently popped out of a mystery crate. In wrestling terms, that’s less of a slow build and more of an instant pop.

Danhausen’s arrival has already produced memorable moments. After debuting at Elimination Chamber, he appeared backstage on the March 2 episode of Raw, where he “cursed” Dominik Mysterio. Later that same night, Mysterio lost the Intercontinental Championship to Penta — leading many fans to jokingly credit the curse.

Internally, WWE is still deciding where Danhausen fits. Reports indicate he has not yet been assigned to a specific brand. Moreover, Danhausen is expected to be present at the WWE Performance Center this week. A possible appearance at Friday’s SmackDown could come to fruition.

For now, though, one thing seems clear — the character may be unusual, but the merchandise numbers are anything but cursed.
