Xia Brookside is determined to prove she has earned her place ahead of the biggest match of her TNA Wrestling career.
At TNA Slammiversary, Brookside will challenge her former tag team partner and best friend, Lei Ying Lee, for the TNA Knockouts World Championship. Ahead of the title bout, Brookside took to social media to push back against criticism that her career has benefited from her family name.
The daughter of veteran wrestler and coach Robbie Brookside, Xia insisted she had to fight for years without the advantages many fans assume she received.
“From 16 year of age I fought so hard for 11 years! I had no support, I didn’t have the nepo baby push you all think I did, my career would’ve been so different if I had.
“Now it’s MY TIME!
“I’m about to make history & win my first title!”
Xia Brookside Turned Heel Against Lei Ying Lee
Xia Brookside’s championship opportunity comes after months of tension with Lei Ying Lee. The rivalry began at TNA Rebellion 2026 when Brookside turned heel by preventing Lee from defeating Arianna Grace for the Knockouts World Championship. Lee eventually captured the title on the April 15 episode of TNA iMPACT on AMC.
The bad blood between the former allies has only intensified in recent weeks. On the final episode of TNA iMPACT before Slammiversary, Brookside defeated Harley Hudson in singles competition before being chased away by the reigning Knockouts World Champion.
Now, Brookside has her first opportunity to capture TNA gold as she looks to back up her bold words and dethrone her former friend at Slammiversary.
WrestleZone will provide live coverage of TNA Slammiversary this Sunday.
