Taylor Rising Is Ready To Prove Herself And Win Tag Gold At NWA Samhain

Taylor Rising is poised to prove herself at NWA Samhain.

Rising spoke with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay ahead of her tag title match against Pretty Empowered at NWA Samhain. The “Stand Out” superstar arrived at NWA two months ago, but she is eager for more competition. At NWA Samhain, she’ll have the opportunity to do that with elevated stakes — the NWA Women’s Tag Team Championships, to be specific.

On October 28, Rising will team up with Natalia Markova, challenging Pretty Empowered (Ella Envy & Kylie Paige) for the NWA Women’s Tag Team Championships. While this is only the second time these two have teamed together, Markova was instrumental in bringing Rising into the National Wrestling Alliance.

“I wrestled Natalia a little while ago at a show called CLASH in Michigan. We had a really good match. It was fun. We clicked, and she’s just like, ‘We’re gonna try to get you over [in the NWA].’ Eventually, it worked out. I’m very grateful that she helped with the foot in the door. I guess while I was there, I proved to myself. They liked me, and I got to stay. It’s full circle. It’s really cool that I get to tag with the girl that I clicked with first. Now, we get to see if we can win the tag belts,” Rising said.

“Coming here, right off the bat, it would be a really big start [to win the tag titles]. I’ve only been here for like a second, but I think I would hold myself higher on needing to prove myself even more as to why I deserve to have this. I’m just really excited about opportunities that are possible to come with it.”

Singles Aspirations

Outside of winning the NWA Women’s Tag Team Championships, Rising is also aiming to face women in the singles scene as well.

“I think all the women [in NWA] are very strong competitors,” Rising said. “Kamille had the [NWA Women’s Championship] belt for a very long time. She’s a very dominant woman in the division. And then with Kenzie [Paige], being able to beat her also shows her dominance, winning, defending her belt, proving it.”

“I think it sets it high because now obviously that’s what we’re all going for, but I feel like I need to make my way up and maybe prove myself with Kamille first. I don’t know if that’s setting it too high, but gotta to make your way up to the champion. I would love to wrestle both of them and see what happens.”
