Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up: Toxic Attraction Implodes, New NWA Women’s Tag Champions, Freya The Slaya Interview

Toxic Attraction implodes on WWE NXT. New NWA Women’s Tag Team Champions crowned at Nuff Said. Freya The Slaya chats with WrestleZone, and more. Let’s break it down in this week’s edition of Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up!

Toxic Attraction Implodes

Cracks in the Toxic Attraction stable had simmered for weeks following Mandy Rose’s departure from WWE, but last week, Jacy Jayne reached her boiling point.

After their loss to Roxanne Perez at NXT Vengeance Day, Jayne and Gigi Dolin met with Bayley for a special edition of “Ding Dong Hello” in hopes of resolving their issues. After discussion, the long-time partners seemingly settled their differences and agreed to carry on as a tag team. Jacy Jayne, however, had a different idea in mind.

As the two went to patch their friendship up with a hug, Jayne delivered a superkick to Dolin. “It’s never been about us, it was always about me!” Jayne then shouted at Dolin, before ramming her orange-haired partner into the “Ding Dong Hello” door. To cap it off, Jayne hit one more superkick, leaving Dolin to cry in agony and shock.

Toxic Attraction is now done for good.

Following her act of betrayal, Jayne will explain herself on Tuesday’s new edition of NXT. Before she unleashes her official statement, though, Jayne told Busted Open Radio she cherishes the opportunity to break out of the Toxic Attraction “shell” now.

NWA Nuff Said

The National Wrestling Alliance held its Nuff Said pay-per-view on February 11 and the card featured some enticing women’s action.

Firstly, La Rosa Negra battled Missa Kate on the pre-show — marking the two’s first-ever singles matchup against each other. After some back-and-forth competition, the former Mission Pro Women’s Champion gained the upper hand, landing a frog splash to capture the victory over Kate.

Later on the main card, the Pretty Empowered (Kenzie Paige & Ella Envy) raised up their NWA Women’s Tag Team Championships against The Renegade Twins.

Charlette and Robyn Renegade made their NWA debut in December, quickly targeting Pretty Empowered. Envy and Paige initially stood tall, though, until The Renegade Twins evened the score with a victory over the reigning champions on the February 7 edition of NWA Powerrr.

The two teams then met for a rubber match at Nuff Said, with the titles on the line. Pretty Empowered fought to defend their titles, but in the end, Charlette Renegade ducked a kick from Ella Envy, ultimately setting up Renegade to clinch the win via pinfall.

Therefore, The Renegade Twins stand as the new NWA Women’s Tag Team Champions.

A brief recap of the NWA Women’s Tag Team Championship match can be read below, courtesy of our live coverage page.

The challengers take control early on. They double-team Paige and isolate her. Envy tags in and gains the upper hand. She stomps Robyn, and the champions continue to dominate. Charlette tags in and fires up with a flurry of offense. The Renegades go for a double-team, but Ella breaks it up. Charlette pins Envy to win the match.

Kamille Retains

Following the dethroning of Pretty Empowered, reigning NWA Women’s Champion Kamille made sure she didn’t fall to the same fate.

Through a brutal No Disqualification match, Kamille defended her title against veteran Angelina Love. The two quickly unloaded on each other, as Love soon sent Kamille flying into the ring post, before delivering a chair shot to the champion. Kamille rallied back with a Torture Rack powerbomb, but it wasn’t enough. Kamille answered with a trashcan to Love’s face, but Love soon shifts momentum into her favor with a Botox Injection.

Stunned, Kamille staggered to her feet as Love grabbed the championship belt. As Love then attempted a swing at Kamille, “The Brickhouse” plowed Love with a spear through the table she previously set up in the corner. With this, Love was left unable to move, allowing Kamille to secure the three count for a victory.

As of this writing, Kamille’s NWA Women’s Championship reign now stands at 618 days.

SDL Arrives To IMPACT, The Hex Return

Last week on IMPACT Wrestling, the Knockouts division adopted some new, and familiar faces.

First, a confident Steph De Lander (known as Persia Pirotta in WWE NXT) stepped up to challenge former Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace. The two powerhouses then battled, as De Lander put up a valiant effort against Grace, grounding her with a suplex and headlock. Eventually, Grace fought back with Snake Eyes and a big boot to garner a two-count fall on De Lander. To secure the victory, Grace pulled out a massive Grace Driver.

Shortly after, The Death Dollz (Taya Valkyrie & Jessicka) dueled against the newly formed team of Killer Kelly and Taylor Wilde. With Rosemary by their side, Valkyrie clutched the victory for her team.

Before The Death Dollz could really celebrate, though, Father James Mitchell appeared, casting a “hex” on Rosemary. Accordingly, The Hex (Allysin Kay & Marti Belle) returned to the IMPACT Zone, rushing down to attack Jessicka and Taya Valkyrie from behind. Rosemary attempted to save her teammates but found herself set up for a double-team of Hex Marks The Spot.

The Hex will now vie for the Knockouts Tag Team Championships at No Surrender, as the Death Dollz defend their titles on the February 24th show.
