The Miz Never Dreamed He’d Ever Be A Locker Room Veteran Giving People Advice

The Miz has come a long way from his rookie days in WWE.

The host of WrestleMania 39 recently sat down with Chris Vannini of The Athletic to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about Vince McMahon seeing him as the Ryan Seacrest of WWE when he first joined the company, Miz admitted that it devastated him but he wasn’t going to turn down the opportunity.

“Look, Ryan Seacrest is one of the best hosts you could possibly have, but you want to be looked at as the person putting butts in seats, the person people are paying money to come see,” The Miz said. “But I knew if they gave me a microphone, I could get people to despise me and create a reaction where they’d want to see me inside the ring.”

The Miz has come a long way from being the Ryan Seacrest of WWE, and it was told to him that in a recent interview with Rhea Ripley, she said that The Miz was her favorite wrestler growing up.

“I don’t believe I was anyone’s favorite,” The Miz said. “Man, where did the time go? I blinked and now, here I am, a veteran in the locker room. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be a veteran in the locker room where people ask me for advice.”

While The Miz doesn’t have a match at WrestleMania 39, he’s hoping that he’ll still be able to make moments that people remember after this weekend is said and done.

“You make moments people remember,” The Miz said. “Theory said he was at WrestleMania 27. I gave him a moment. That’s what it’s all about. That’s the truth.”
