Rikishi On WrestleMania 40: I Can’t Tell You How Proud I Am, It’s Going To Be Emotional

In less than two weeks, two brothers, two former WWE World, and Undisputed Tag Team Champions will go head-to-head for the first time in their careers at WrestleMania 40. It will be Jimmy Uso taking on his brother Jey Uso. Recently, their father, Rikishi shared his thoughts on the match.

While speaking on his podcast, RIKISHI FATU OFF THE TOP, The WWE Hall of Famer shared his thoughts on what the Uso versus Uso WrestleMania match is going to be like.

“Man, I’ll tell you, man. I got that, I had to get back and… Punched into WWE’s YouTube, and then I was checking out the clips man. I can’t tell you how proud I am. To see the boys like… As we get closer to WrestleMania. It’s going to be emotional for my family. I’m sure it’s going to be emotional for their family, their wives, and their kids, and so forth. To see the two brothers go head up, the dream match that they have asked for is now reality. And now they get to… I post it up on my Instagram. Sometimes you can’t find the words to… I seen that flyer for a while. I just… Maybe I was thinking too much as a father stuff.”

Rikishi is deeply concerned about the time his sons get for their match at WrestleMania 40

“My thoughts just came to me. This is an opportunity that will live on for a lifetime. I think it is important that they go out there and take every single opportunity that is given to them, time wise. Because we know as far as WrestleMania, in my mind I’m hoping that they don’t mess with the boys’ time. Because everybody tries to get in. You know what I mean? That’s a ‘No No.’ ‘If you are on before me and I know that you got ten minutes and this is the biggest show on Earth, and your a** go out there and go 13 minutes. Now you done plugged into my three minutes. So now… Things like that kind of came to my mind.

“Something that just came to my head while just proud to see this thing happening. And very very very nervous at the same time. Because as brothers, I know me and my brother Tonga Kid and Umaga did it. When we work against each other, you actually kind of throw your punches a little bit more harder. A little bit more snug. Because I want everything to connect. And then Joey say me and you was working, and you kick me in the mouth, to me it’s okay. Cuz we trying to make this thing… This close to making it work. And so, But if you click, you hit me two or three more times or damn it, now you’re off now. It’s called a receipt after that.”

Rikishi wants to see his sons walk out together at the end of their match and put an end to this story

The WWE Hall of Famer also mentioned that he wants to see his kids put in the work and steal the show. But at the same time, Rikishi wants his kids to also walk out together holding hands and have a poetic end to their story.

“But I think, Jimmy and Jey, I have to say, what night of WrestleMania that they are on, they are going to put in work. And they’re coming to steal the show. That’s the only way they know how to work. That’s the only way they were brought up. that’s the only way that they know how to do things, is to be that person. To be able to perform to the highest level with passion and to give the fans exactly what they paid to see.

“And so, it’s going to be a treat for the world and I can only pray for a father that they go out there. Perform, and being able to walk out there and walk back. I would love to see them walk back together. I would love to see my boys at WrestleMania 40 walk back together, holding hands so that story can close,” Rikishi said.

Rikishi also shared a post on Social Media about what it means for his sons to compete against each other at WrestleMania.
