WWE is reportedly planning to tease the WrestleMania 42 main event during this weekend’s Survivor Series: WarGames in San Diego.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed WWE’s direction for WrestleMania 42 and hinted that fans should expect clear clues during Survivor Series. “Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, but, and Seth Rollins did say that he’s hoping to get back for WrestleMania.”
He explained that WWE has been weighing several potential main event options, with Roman Reigns heavily involved in the conversation. “I was given the impression that the WrestleMania main event that there will be on Saturday [at Survivor Series].
He said, “There will be teases that will help you figure out who the WrestleMania main event will be….The tease on Monday was absolutely a tease for the main event. Which would lead you to believe it’s Roman Reigns challenging either Cody Rhodes or Punk.”
He added that since WWE already ran Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes twice. The company may lean toward Reigns vs. Punk as the fresh. “Because Cody Rhodes has been done twice before, I would favor them going with Punk.”
However, he believes WWE could tease Rhodes and Punk as possible opponents for Reigns to keep fans guessing longer. “But, I think that on Saturday we will probably have a better idea, although I’m going to guess that they’ll shoot teases with both of them, just to keep that question going.” [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]

On WWE RAW, Roman Reigns said, “And since we’re being honest tonight, that title would look so much better on my shoulder.” This left Cody Rhodes and CM Punk confused about who he was referring to. Reigns clearly played mind games with both champions. It will be interesting to see what unfolds this weekend as all three prepare to team together in WarGames.
