It appears that family ties are not stronger than work relationships.
WWE NXT star Arianna Grace is the daughter of Santino Marella, who is currently TNA’s Director of Authority. The pair have enjoyed a whimsical and fun relationship during the ongoing NXT/TNA crossover partnership, but that fun mood came to an end on Thursday night.
This week’s episode of TNA Impact featured a steel cage match with Marella, Steve Maclin, The Hardys and Mike Santana squaring off with WWE NXT’s Tyson, Tyriek, Brooks Jensen, Lexis King, and Stacks, who is also dating Grace.
The finish of the match saw Santana drop Brooks Jensen with the Spin the Block to get the pinfall win. However, the drama was not over yet, as Marella stuck around to confront his “future son-in-law” about the attack at TNA Final Resolution. Grace went to give her father a hug, only to follow up with a low blow.
Steve Maclin ran back in for the save, then he and Santana confronted Grace about what she had just done. Rather than feeling remorse for her actions, Grace dressed Marella down and called him a deadbeat before embracing Stacks on the stage.
