Top WWE Name Told Vince McMahon The Undertaker’s Streak Ending Was A Mistake

This top WWE executive didn’t want The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak to end.

During a recent appearance on the Six Feet Under podcast, WWE Executive Director Bruce Prichard revealed what he told Vince McMahon after Brock Lesnar ended The Undertaker’s streak at WrestleMania XXX.

“I waited until the next day because I just sensed, I did text our boss that night, and I wasn’t working there at the time and I texted him what I thought of it. And I just said, ‘I wish you wouldn’t have done that, but you have your reasons. Other than that, it was a great show.’

Earlier in the interview, Prichard joked that the “streak should have ended with Giant Gonzales.”

“You know the streak was an accident,” he said. “Yeah, no, streak was an accident. It came up in a production meeting and I believe it was Michael Hayes who was like, ‘Boss, man, I think Undertaker’s undefeated at WrestleMania, like ten times in a row.’

“It was brought to life. Oh we gotta beat him. Yes. So I think we should end that. But then, you know, it became a thing and part of it, look, if there was a guy to do it, Brock was the guy to do it, I get that. I understand that. However, for me, and I’m speaking strictly selfishly here… It was something created out of my messed up head that, it was like a baby, you know? You watch it grow, that character, and it grows and you see it come to life, and I wanted to keep it pure forever.”
