Is current World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk a part-timer in WWE? That’s certainly up for debate, but Punk has a response for the people who think he is.
RAW Superstar CM Punk was a recent guest on Notsam Wrestling. When asked to respond to his critics for calling him a hypocrite for working a part-time schedule in WWE now, Punk claims he elects to be on every show if the travel allows it.
“You know what they do with me? Like, everything’s a gotcha. ‘He said he hated part-timers. Look at him. He’s a part-timer now,'” CM Punk said, mocking the online discourse. “I elect to be on every single show, if the travels allows it. We just did a Christmas loop. The Christmas loop is fun. Harkens back to the old school days, where I can get on the road, get in the car, drive to the next town. I’m on my own clock. I get to see the fans.”
When asked if he’s found a place of peace regarding his legacy in pro wrestling despite people trying to discredit him, Punk said he’s just doing his thing, and as long as people are talking about him, it’s good for business.
“I feel like that a little bit… and I’m at the point now where I’m just like, all right, man… I’ll be over here doing my thing,” CM Punk said. “Here’s the thing, they’re talking about me, right? Constantly, it’s good for business.” [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]
