CM Punk’s new movie, Night Patrol, got some airtime during TNA’s debut on AMC.
Night Patrol is set to debut in theatres on Friday, January 16. The movie is an action horror movie that tells the story of residents of a Los Angeles housing project who battle a group of vampire cops. The Night Patrol trailer ran during one of the commercial breaks for TNA Impact, which made its debut on AMC on Thursday night.
The TNA Impact debut on AMC was a star-studded affair in more ways than one, as CM Punk’s Night Patrol co-star, RJ Cyler, was also live in the arena. TNA’s Gia Miller was ringside to introduce several VIP guests in the front row at TNA Impact, which included Cyler, Darkwinds star Zahn McClarnon and former WWE Women’s Champion Candice Michelle.
Shudder, the premium streaming service for horror, thriller, and supernatural content, acquired the distribution rights to Night Patrol. AMC Networks also owns Shudder, opening the door to advertise the movie during TNA Impact.
CM Punk opens up about Night Patrol changing a key part of vampire lore
Punk wasn’t the only WWE Superstar to get some screen time. LA Knight also popped up in a car commercial during the broadcast.
CM Punk recently appeared on the That Hashtag Show to promote the movie. During the conversation, he opened up about the vampires in the film wearing metal teeth instead of growing fangs like they would in a typical vampire story. Punk noted that it’s a clever aspect and pointed out that it’s never been done before.
“I do think that was such a clever aspect. Never really been done before in any kind of vampire movie, where like, ‘We turn into vampires, and yeah, we drink blood, but we don’t grow fangs. We put them on ourselves to help rip them throats.’ I think that’s super dark, too,” CM Punk said.
