WWE NXT Results:
NXT Women’s North American Championship match: Izzi Dame (c) vs. Lola Vice vs. Thea Hail
As soon as the bell rings, there is a flurry of rollups from each competitor. No one can get the early advantage or a quick pin. Dame gets tossed out of the ring. Vice and Hail brawl. Dame dives in and catches Vice and Hail with a double code breaker. Both Hail and Vice kick out. The Culling tries to get involved. Hails sends Spears flying with a diving rana off the apron.
Everyone lands a dive. Everyone lands a big move. Kelani Jordan attacks Vice outside the ring. Jordan pulls a ladder from under the ring and slams Vice’s hand using the ladder. Back in the ring, Hail traps Dame in the Kimura. Dame stuns Hail on the top rope. Dame hits a sit-out powerbomb for the win.
Winner and STILL Women’s North American Champion, Izzi Dame!
Grade: B-
Why were they all so close to each other during the intros? Why didn’t this title match get any entrances? An odd start for what was a good match. Hail has such spunk, but it’s clear that someone backstage hates her. There have been several opportunities to give her a non-accidental title win, but it just never happens. You know what? Same for Vice. Dame is a good heel, and having a heel champion is usually best, but this writer questions how long Dame will hold that championship.
Men’s Speed Tournament: Elio LeFleur vs. Charlie Dempsey
LeFleur pins Dempsey with nine seconds left. modified leg lariat.
Winner- Elio LeFleur
Grade: C+
Speed matches… sigh.
TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship Match: The Elegance Brand (Heather by Elegance and M by Elegance) (c) vs. ZaRuca
Zaria starts the match and is in control early. The Elegance Brand takes control, and M and Heather take a moment to pose on the apron. M and Heather take turns working over Zaria. Zaria refuses to tag out.
After a double clothesline spot, Ruca tags herself in and clears the ring. Zaria tags herself in. Ruca and Zaria get into it. Zaria set up her finish. Ruca accidentally hits Zaria with the Sol Snatcher. The Elegance Brand hit their finish on Zaria for the win.
Winners and STILL TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions, The Elegance Brand!
Grade: C+
We are entering poop or get off the pot territory with Zaria and Sol Ruca.
Chase U vs. Stacks and Lexis King
Stacks and King get the win after King hits the Coronation on Hall.
Winners- Stacks and Lexis King
After the match, Conners leaves with King and Stacks.
Grade: C+
This one was nothing to write home about. Conners leaving Chase U is… something, but its hard to care about any of this given how it’s been positioned on the show.
NXT Championship Ladder Match: Ricky Saints vs. Shiloh Hill vs. Sean Legacy vs. Jackson Drake vs. Dion Lennox vs. Keanu Carver vs Joe Hendry
Carver tosses everyone around the ring. Hill surprises Carver with a back body drop. Hill and Legacy send Carver out of the ring with a ladder shot. Saints Spears Legacy and lands his rope walk axhandle. Hendry lands a dive that takes out the field. After the break, Carver rips a ladder into two pieces. Legacy and Drake fight on top of the ladder. Hill uses the ladder Carver broke as stilts. Carver grabs Hill. Lennox dives off the top and hits a Doomsday device. Lennox spinebuster Saints on a ladder. Hendry drops Lennox on the ladder with a Standing Ovation.
Drake takes it out the field with a corkscrew press to the outside. After the break, everyone gangs up on Carver and buries him under a bunch of ladders. Hill clears the ring by spinning with a ladder on his head. Drake drops Hill with a shining wizard. Legacy hits a 450 on Drake while he’s laid out on a ladder. Legacy climbs. Lennonx climbs. Both men trade strikes, Carver gets to his feet and destroys Hendry, pouces Drake into the crowd. Hill is speared through a wall by Carver. Saints climbs the ladder. Carver follows.
Saints pushes over the ladder Carver is on, and Carver falls through the ladder to the floor. Saints celebrates. When Saints turns around on the ladder, Hendry is there! Saints and Hendry tussle over the championship. Hendry hits Saints in the head with the title. Saints falls off the ladder onto another ladder! Hendry pulls down the championship!
Winner and NEW NXT Champion, Joe Hendry!
Grade: B
This ladder match was all over the place in the best possible way. Carver continues to shine as the new monster of NXT. The amount of carnage Carver was responsible for here was impressive. Hendry getting the big win here was the right choice. That said, we have seen this story before. Hendry is likely to lose the title to Saints in short order, but let’s see how it plays out. Saints may have an ace up his sleeve to play at a later date.
