Sol Ruca is officially getting a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. But beating Jacy Jayne might not be her only problem, as her partnership with Zaria looks like it’s falling apart.
On the February 10th episode of WWE NXT, Ruca pinned Kendal Grey in a big tag team match to become the new No. 1 contender. The match was made by interim General Manager Robert Stone and featured ZaRuca taking on WrenQCC’s Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair. The rule was that whoever got the winning pin would earn a future title match against Jacy Jayne.
The issues between them have been simmering for some time now. Earlier, during a TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title match, miscommunication cost them the titles.
This week, before the match, the two argued backstage. Ruca brought up how Zaria shoved her last week and said it wasn’t right. Zaria shot back, saying Ruca deserved it after hitting her by accident. Ruca tried to calm things down, saying they were still a great team and just needed to fix their mistakes and have fun again.
Zaria wasn’t interested. She said she had enough and felt Ruca had already gotten too many chances in WWE and that Ruca needed to stay out of her way.
Post-Match Tension Clouds Sol Ruca’s Big Opportunity
Once the match started, it was clear they weren’t fully on the same page. Early on, Zaria stopped Ruca from getting a quick pin, which could have earned Ruca the title shot. That hesitation gave Grey and Sinclair time to recover.
Later, Ruca tried to build momentum from the top rope, but Zaria tagged herself in without warning. That led to another argument and allowed Sinclair to take advantage with a dropkick.
Near the end, Zaria hit her finisher on Sinclair and looked ready to win. But she accidentally knocked into Ruca, and the referee ruled it a blind tag. Zaria didn’t realize she wasn’t the legal competitor anymore and kept fighting. Meanwhile, Ruca took her chance, hit a Sol Snatcher on Kendal Grey, and got the win.
Just like that, Sol Ruca earned her championship match. Zaria was left stunned, and her face turned furious.
Following that, Ruca tried to smooth things over by offering Zaria a handshake, which she refused. Then, Fatal Influence came to the ring to confront Ruca.

Sol Ruca has definitely earned her title shot, but it may have cost her a teammate.
