LA Knight Claims Female Star Was ‘Thrown To The Wolves’ After WWE Call-Up

LA Knight recently shared his thoughts on Maxxine Dupri’s early days on the WWE main roster.

Both stars debuted around the same time in WWE as part of the Maximum Male Models group, where Knight was introduced as Max Dupri. While Knight quickly returned to his LA Knight persona, Dupri continued to grow on the main roster despite having limited experience at the time.

LA Knight says Maxxine Dupri ‘was not ready’ when she was called up

Speaking in an interview with Esteban Ramirez, LA Knight said Maxxine Dupri was not fully ready when she was first called up, but made it clear it was not her fault. He said, “She’s come a long way, because in all honesty and this is no fault of her own. When she was first brought up, if we’re just being 100%, she was not ready.”

He added that she was put into a tough situation early in her career. “I think she would admit that, 100%. And again, that’s not her fault. She kinda just got thrown to the wolves. And she’s done well. Of course, it hasn’t been perfect, but it never is. Nobody can be perfect, I’m not perfect. Nobody’s perfect, everybody has their mess-ups.

Despite the difficult start, Knight praised Dupri growth and gaining fan support over time. “But when you’re talking about somebody coming in completely unprepared. In this amount of time, being able to get the fan support and then beyond that she’s already been Intercontinental Champion at this point. I’d say that’s a pretty major come-up.”
