Britt Baker Reflects On Anniversary Of Iconic AEW Match

Britt Baker is remembering an iconic AEW match on its anniversary.

March 17, 2021 holds an important place in All Elite Wrestling lore. It marked the first episode of Dynamite branded as St. Patrick’s Day Slam, and it also featured an Unsanctioned Lights Out match in the main event.

Not only that, but it was the first time two women headlined an episode of AEW Dynamite. Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa went to war that night in Jacksonville, Florida, delivering a main event fans remember to this day.

Both women were given ample time to tell their story, and what a brutal story it was. The match featured a variety of weapons and several hard-hitting spots that left both competitors wearing crimson masks.

The bout is largely considered to be the D.M.D.’s breakout performance, despite the result going in favor of her opponent. Now, the former AEW Women’s World Champion is reflecting on the iconic match on its fifth anniversary.

After highlights from the match were shared on X by AEW fan account Drainmaker, Baker reposted the clip with a short caption that included the date the match aired along with a single blood drop emoji.

“3/17/21?,” she posted.

Britt Baker has not wrestled on AEW programming in nearly two years. Her last match took place on the November 13, 2024 episode of Dynamite, where she defeated Penelope Ford. The D.M.D. recently addressed her absence from AEW Revolution, which featured several notable returns.
