Former WWE Star Jake Hager Set For Debut In New Football-Style Wrestling League

Jake Hager is getting ready for another unexpected move in his combat sports career. This time, the former WWE and AEW star will compete in a football-style wrestling league later this year. A different setup and different rules.

Wrestling fans still remember Hager from his WWE run as Jack Swagger, where he captured the World Heavyweight Championship. Years later, he joined AEW and became part of Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle group.

After stepping away from pro wrestling full-time, though, he never really slowed down much. Instead, Hager kept jumping into other combat sports projects whenever opportunities showed up.

Recently, he even made his Power Slap debut under where he faced Devin Jenkins and finished the fight with a knockout in the third round. Now, the former WWE and AEW name is getting ready to test himself again in another new sport-style format later this year.

Jake Hager will represent the North East Outlaws at National Wrestling League’s Manchester event

The National Wrestling League officially confirmed Hager’s involvement through a post on X, formerly Twitter. According to the announcement, Hager will represent the North East Outlaws during the promotion’s event in Manchester on September 27, 2026.

Hager already picked up momentum recently after winning his Power Slap debut by third-round knockout. Now with him joining the North East Outlaws for the National Wrestling League event, many fans will probably be curious to see how he performs inside this new football-style wrestling setup.
