Mike Santana’s TNA Wrestling Contract Expiration Date Revealed

Mike Santana’s TNA Wrestling contract expiration date has been revealed.

Earlier reports indicated that reigning TNA World Champion Mike Santana’s contract with the promotion would expire this summer. Now, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Santana’s deal will run through mid-July, and he’s about a month away from the end of his contract.

Johnson also noted that WWE is interested in signing Mike Santana, which coincides with what Wrestlevotes Radio (via Fightful Select) recently reported. They stated that there is strong internal support from at least one main roster member and that the promotion has high respect for Santana’s work and professionalism. They also mentioned that WWE would like to have him on the main roster by the end of this year if he signs a contract.

Mike Santana is gearing up to defend the TNA World Championship against Nic Nemeth at the upcoming Slammiversary pay-per-view. Nemeth invoked his Call Your Shot challenge to get the opportunity. The event will emanate from the Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 28, the same day as AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door and NXT Great American Bash.

Matt Hardy says he wouldn’t be shocked if Mike Santana joins WWE

Speaking on his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the former TNA World Tag Team Champion addressed the speculations surrounding Santana’s contract. Hardy noted that he wouldn’t be surprised if he chooses to leave TNA for WWE.

“I mean that, that, that wouldn’t surprise me. I would guess that’s probably Mike Santana’s ultimate goal [is] to work for WWE. You know, most kids who grew up loving wrestling, their goal is to work for WWE at some point, have a WrestleMania moment, whatever else. That [him going to WWE] wouldn’t shock me at all.” [H/T F4WOnline]
