Former WWE Star Nikki Cross Set for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Debut

Former WWE star Nikki Cross (aka Nikki Storm) is set to appear in Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling (MLPW) as she continues the next chapter of her career. After bringing back the ring name that made her popular on the independent scene, Cross will make her debut for the promotion during its upcoming TV tapings in Canada.

Her appearance at the MLP Mayhem tapings will be her first match for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling since leaving WWE earlier this year.

Nikki Storm joins MLPW after her WWE release

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling announced that Storm will compete at the MLP Mayhem TV tapings on August 7 and 8 in Windsor, Ontario. The shows will later air on TSN as part of the promotion’s television deal, with MLP Mayhem premiering on July 15.

The move comes after she officially returned to the Nikki Storm name. She recently filed new trademarks through Best in the Galaxy Wrestling LLC.

Storm has also taken on a new role outside the ring. Along with her husband, Big Damo (FKA Killian Dain in WWE), she recently became a co-owner of PROGRESS Wrestling and DEFY Wrestling.

Between running wrestling promotions and competing in the ring, Storm is keeping herself busy while helping grow independent wrestling.

Nikki joined WWE NXT as Nikki Cross in 2016 and became a standout member of SAnitY. She later teamed with Alexa Bliss, and together they won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship twice.

One of the biggest moments of her career came in 2021 when she introduced the Nikki A.S.H. (Almost a Super Hero) character. She won the Money in the Bank contract and successfully cashed it in the very next night to become the RAW Women’s Champion. She also won another Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Rhea Ripley.

After the superhero character ended, Storm slowly returned to a darker persona before joining The Wyatt Sicks in 2024 as Abby the Witch.

Nikki Cross left WWE after The Wyatt Sicks’ tenure fizzled out and came to an end. She returned to the independent scene after being released by WWE on April 24, 2026, during the company’s post-WrestleMania roster cuts.
