Oba Femi is officially the 2026 King of the Ring.
The King of the Ring Tournament Final opened WWE Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with Oba Femi taking on Jey Uso for the coveted crown and a guaranteed world championship match at SummerSlam.
Jey Uso received a thunderous ovation from the Saudi Arabian crowd, even running back part of his entrance to soak in the atmosphere. Oba Femi was met with equally loud “Oba” chants as he made his way to the ring.
Uso relied on his speed early in the match, connecting with multiple suicide dives and superkicks to keep the powerhouse off balance. He also targeted Femi’s midsection with back-to-back Uso Splashes before locking in a chokehold in an attempt to wear him down.
Femi eventually powered through the offense, using a series of running uppercuts to shift the momentum in his favor. The closing sequence saw “The Ruler” launch Uso across the ring before planting him with the Fall From Grace powerbomb to score the decisive victory.
Following the match, Michael Cole confirmed that Femi had become the 25th King of the Ring and would challenge for a World Championship of his choosing at WWE SummerSlam.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis then entered the ring to present Femi with the King of the Ring crown. During his post-match interview, Femi embraced his new title, saying: “It feels great to go from The Ruler to The King.”
He added that Jey Uso “couldn’t destroy what’s backed by destiny” before declaring himself the “Bringer of War” and the “Beast Slayer.” Femi then concluded the celebration by striking his signature pose while holding the crown.
While WWE has yet to confirm which champion Femi will challenge at SummerSlam, the company may have already planted the seeds for his next feud.
With SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis presenting Femi with the crown, it is possible WWE is positioning him for a showdown with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. The two recently crossed paths on SmackDown in London, where Femi came to Rhodes’ aid.
Whether that encounter was merely a one-off or the beginning of a SummerSlam program remains to be seen, but Femi now has a guaranteed world title opportunity after capturing the 2026 King of the Ring.
