Sami Zayn Joins Eddie Guerrero in WWE History With Grand Slam Title Win

Sami Zayn shocked the world at Night of Champions when he won the Undisputed WWE Championship. With the win, he joins some rarified air.

Zayn stunned the WWE Universe on Saturday when he defeated Cody Rhodes and Gunther to become the new champion. The win felt like the upset of all upsets, and cemented Zayn at the top of the company. The win also put Zayn in a club that only some of the most legendary figures in wrestling have been a part of: being a Grand Slam Champion.

Sami’s win makes him just the 26th Grand Slam Champion in WWE’s history, joining the likes of legends like Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns, and more. Prior to Zayn accomplishing the feat, John Cena was the last to become a Grand Slam Champion when he won the WWE Intercontinental Championship in 2025.

As for Zayn, it’s unclear what’s next for him. Oba Femi won the King of the Ring Tournament on Saturday, but seems to have his eyes set on Roman Reigns. Will Cody Rhodes or Gunther go and try to win the belt from Zayn? We’ll have to wait and see.
