Samoa Joe gets released by WWE.

Samoa Joe was released by WWE on Thursday, January 6, 2022, according to a new report by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select. Joe was recently a part of the NXT brand and prior to the 2.0 relaunch, Joe was NXT Champion.

Samoa Joe was briefly brought back to the company after being released on April 15, 2021. As part of his re-hiring, Joe became a part of the talent scouting process but now, he has been released along with several other NXT staff members this week.

William Regal was also released this week. On NXT television, Regal had brought Samoa Joe back in order to take his position as General Manager but instead, Samoa Joe opted to be an enforcer leading up to his match with Karrion Kross at NXT TakeOver 36. Kross was released by WWE in November 2021.

We will have more on the release of Samoa Joe as more details are made available.
