Inamura is down while Briggs works him over. Inamura pulls a bat from under the ring. Briggs takes it and hits a white Russian leg sweep. After the break, Briggs superplexes Inamura onto a piece of metal barricade. Briggs tapes Inamura to the top rope and whips him with the Kendo stick, shades of The Sandman and Tommy Dreamer from ages ago.

Inamura fires up and lights Briggs up with Sumo strikes. Inamura puts a trash can on Briggs’ head and hits it with a bat. Urange suplex on a trash can by Inamura. Briggs is busted open. Inamura brings a table into the ring. Briggs wrapped a chain around his fist while Inamura struggled to set up a table in the ring. Inamura sets up his splash. Briggs crushes Inamura in the corner. Briggs puts Inamura through a table with a moonsault for the win.

Winner- Josh Briggs

Grade: C+

Standard garbage match filled with tons of furniture and weapons. If you are into that sort of thing, this probably made you quite happy. Good finish though. Briggs’ moonsault is impressive. Also, watching Inamura struggle to set up tables was brutal.

While Ricky Saints is making his entrance, Briggs pushes past him. Both men have a staredown.

Jasper Troy vs. Ricky Saints

Saints dropkicks Troy as soon as the bell rings. Saints hops on Troy’s back and locks in a sleeper. Troy boots Saints to the floor as Saints sets up a springboard.

After the break, Troy works over Saints. The fight spills out of the ring. Troy tries a senton while Saints is laid out on the ring steps, but Saints moves out of the way. Tornado DDT on the floor by Saints. Saints sends Troy back into the ring. Saints hits a top rope tornado DDT for the win.

Winner- Ricky Saints

Grade: B-

Solid match that kept the ECW spirit alive while WWE is in Philadelphia. Saints needed a win, but so did Troy. Troy is by far the weakest monster we have ever seen. Has he won a match that wasn’t against a lower card talent? Troy needs to win a match. Period.

The Juggernaught Speaks

Jordynne Grace notes that she came to NXT to win the championship. So far, that hasn’t been the case. Grace didn’t know that it would be a friendship that would cost her the championship. In the end, Grace thought her friendship with Blake Monroe would end differently than every other wrestling friendship. Grace has one objective. She doesn’t have to get revenge on Monroe. What Grace wants is to hold up a mirror to Monroe so she can see who she really is. Monroe walks out on the stage with security.

Monroe had a contract drawn up that says if Grace lays a finger on her, the match at NXT Heatwave is off. Grace says Monroe had to watch her wrestle at WWE Evolution while Monroe was watching from the floor, so she’s clearly jealous. Monroe calls Grace a pretender, playing wrestler. Monroe tries to goad Grace into hitting her. Grace says she doesn’t have to attack Monroe to show her what’s going to happen to Monroe at Heatwave. Grace beats up Monroe’s security. Monroe looks terrified. Grace grabs Monroe by the arm and tells her that at Heatwave, she will show Monroe what ugly looks like.

Grade: C

This was way longer than it needed to be, and Grace seemingly got lost at points. The Philadelphia crowd was extremely forgiving during this one.

Fatal Influence vs. The Elegance Brand (with Masha Slamovich as special guest referee)

M and Henley kick the match. Henley traps M in her corner and tags in Nyx. Nyx lands a leaping leg lariat. M surprises Nyx with a back leg front kick. Heather tags in and lands a splash off of M’s shoulders. Ash tags in and gets rolls up for a near fall. Nyx manages to tag in Jayne. Ash and Jayne trade pin attempts. Neither woman can get the advantage. Ash’s personal concierge grabs Henley’s leg as she hits the ropes.

Slamovich ejects the concierge. After the break, The Elegance Brand lands a bow and arrow/double stomp combo. Everyone lands a big move. Slamovich gets distracted a fight outside the ring, while Ash lands a swanton. Slamovich eventually makes the count, but Nyx kicks out. While Ash and Slamovich argue, Jayne destroys Ash with the Rolling Encore for the win.

Winners- Fatal Influence

Grade: C+

This match started off a bit slow, but had a fun finish. Jayne obliterated Ash with her finish. Best part of the match.

NXT Championship #1 Contender’s Match: Trick Williams vs. Je’Von Evans

NXT Champion Oba Femi is in the crowd watching the match. As soon as the bell rings, Williams boots Evans in the face. Evans kicks out. Williams and Evans trade kick attempts. Williams showboats and does Eddy Gordo from Tekken’s taunt. Evans responds by kicking Williams in the face. Both men trade chops. Evans wins out. Williams surprises Evans with a leaping lariat. Williams works over Evans. Evans lands a springboard clothesline. Wiliams is sent flying out of the ring. Evans lands a dive. Evans sets up a springboard, but Williams pushes Evans off the top. The crow gasps as Evans is sent high in the air and almost over the commentary desk. Evan’s lower half hits the desk, destroying it.

After the break, Williams is beating down Evans. Evans fires up. Evans goes up top. Williams slams Evan off the top. Williams and Evans trade strikes. German suplex by Evans. Frog splash by Evans. Williams kicks out. Williams floors Evans with a cyclone boot. DVD by Williams. Evans kicks out. Williams calls for the Trick Shot. Williams gets distracted by TNA’s Mike Santana, who is in the crowd. Evans surprises Trick with a springboard cutter. Evans hits a super cutter for the win.

Winner- Je’Von Evans

Grade: B

This was a fun match. Evans and Williams went at it like they were in a blood feud. Williams sending Evans through the commentary desk may have been the spot of the year. Evans should be dead now, but it was good watching his ghost get a much-needed big win in the main event.

WWE NXT Review:

Tonight’s show was all over the place. The crowd didn’t respond to much of the TNA stuff tonight, including tons of silence during the six-women tag match. The main event saved what was a night filled with just OK action, and meandering promos. NXT is starting to resemble SmackDown and Raw, and that is not a good thing. Let us know what you thought in the comments below!
