Fans have a 50-50 reaction to Cody Rhodes’ first look as Guile in Street Fighter.
WWE Superstars Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns were cast as Guile and Akuma in the upcoming Street Fighter live-action movie earlier this year. The sneak peek of the film was released at The Game Awards on Thursday, featuring the first look at the characters, including Reigns and Rhodes.
Both superstars’ looks were faithful to the original video games, with Cody Rhodes sporting Guile’s iconic tall, blonde flat-top hairstyle. However, fans are giving out mixed reactions to the Undisputed WWE Champion’s look.

Fan Reaction To Cody Rhodes’ Look
Fans have taken to X/Twitter to share their reaction to Cody Rhodes’ look as Guile, which ranges from “he looks awesome/it looks like the games” to “this is awful/cartoonish.”
One fan noted that Cody Rhodes looks like he’s “playing Guile on an SNL skit,” and another straight out exclaimed, “he looks really stupid.” However, some fans also shared positive reactions and praised the movie for being game-accurate and leaning into the absurdity of the digital versions.
Casual fans who might not be familiar with the Street Fighter games poked fun at Rhodes’ hairstyle, saying things like, “Why his head look like my living room table,” and “What was the need of this exact cartoonish hairstyle?”
Featuring a star-studded cast, Street Fighter is set to hit the screens on October 16, 2026.
Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns recently partnered up inside WarGames alongside CM Punk and The Usos in a losing effort against Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Brock Lesnar, Logan Paul, and Drew McIntyre. Reigns had a staredown with Rhodes after the match, planting the seeds for a future showdown.
