John Cena has joined the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies universes.
Beginning August 28, fans can see the 17-time world champion in the new Coyote vs. ACME film, directed by Dave Green. Cena himself stars as Buddy Crane, a lawyer for Acme Corporation.
The live-action animated legal comedy follows the story of Wile E. Coyote as he enlists the help of a billboard attorney to launch a lawsuit against the Acme Corporation, which allegedly sold him faulty products. Will Forte, best known for his role as MacGruber, plays the role of Coyote’s lawyer, Kevin Avery, in the film.
Today, the movie unveiled a new trailer, showing Cena, Forte, and others in character. Cena, in full lawyer fashion, wore a suit and tie.
Other notable stars in Coyote vs. ACME include Lana Candor, known for her work in the To All the Boys film series and P. J. Byrne, previously seen in The Wolf of Wall Street. The following iconic animated characters will return to the silver screen as well: Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Porky Pig, Tweety, Daffy Duck, and Foghorn Leghorn.
Later this month, fans can see Cena in another new film, titled Little Brother, in which he stars alongside Eric Andre and Christopher Meloni. This movie will drop on Netflix on June 26.
Within the world of WWE, Cena made his last appearance at Backlash on May 9 to announce a new yearly event, the John Cena Classic.
