Rey Mysterio and Santino Marella both worked for WWE, but they have something else in common now.
WWE fans are quite used to Dominik Mysterio saying that his father is a deadbeat dad. (Well, one of them, at least.) Dirty Dom has made his feelings about Rey perfectly clear on WWE TV and in interviews. He’s even gone as far as saying that he’s accomplished more in five years than Rey Mysterio did in 20.
Santino Marella had a good relationship with his daughter, WWE NXT star Arianna Grace.
The keyword is had.
Thursday’s episode of TNA Impact featured a steel cage match main event pitting TNA against NXT. TNA’s Marella, Steve Maclin, The Hardys and Mike Santana teamed up against WWE NXT’s Tyson, Tyriek, Brooks Jensen, Lexis King, and Stacks.
TNA ultimately got the win, but Marella stuck around to confront Stacks, his “future son-in-law,” about being attacked at TNA Final Resolution. Grace went to hug her father, only to follow up with a low blow, turning on him in the process. Steve Maclin and Santana confronted Grace about what she did, but Grace just screamed at Marella and called him a deadbeat.
Fans will have to tune in to see what happens next. However, it looks like the WWE Universe will have two deadbeat dads to cheer on now. Check out everything that went down on this week’s episode of TNA Impact here.
